Some of the key panel discussion points will focus on:
- Airline industry at a crossroads: Globally, Regionally and Locally
- Manufacturing challenges: From supply chain to sustainability and keeping customers satisfied
- Designing the future for Rwanda's new hub
- Why business aviation is creating new opportunity in Africa
- The AFCAC Agenda for Africa
Fireside chat with CEO of RwandAir about the latest developments from the host airline and the benefits of partnership and collaboration
- The Airline C-suite panel
A panel of African airline leaders from cargo, regional and international carriers. The moderator will encourage the airlines and manufacturers to openly discuss the current trends and challenges
- Africa's aviation infrastructure: Opportunities and challenges
Airport CEOs, ANS providers and industry experts look at how the sector sees investment in infrastructure, training, and how collaboration with tourism sector will open new doors
- Africa’s Low-Altitude Drone Economy: The Next Frontier for Innovation, Investment, and Infrastructure
This panel – run in conjunction with ADF – is designed to connect drone sector advancement with broader aviation, investment, and policy discussions. This session is ideal for senior stakeholders from government, CAAs, OEMs, and development institutions.
- MRO - Africa is not blind to what must happen in MRO for its civil aviation to reach full potential. Recent moves by several airlines are promising, but more is needed
The perennial story in African MRO is the crippling cost of sending assets abroad for base maintenance. The underlying theme is shortages – of everything: parts, slots, technicians, cash, Investors... These are fairly universal but Africa as usual gets hammered hardest. The lack of an EU-style common market doesn't help
- Finance - Access to capital remains a stumbling block for Africa's aviation growth; How can the continent achieve breakthrough from outside or within
With access to capital critical for African aviation and airline ventures to flourish, this panel looks at what can be done to make a difference. What can airlines, airports, the finance sector and governments do to bring Africa in line with the industry elsewhere, and what progress is being made to make Africa more attractive to global capital.
- Managing Risk and Security: From wildlife to conflict and business interruption
Aviation is a risk business. A series of short presentations and a panel discussion covers the major risks that affect a business insurance and what can be done to mitigate the risk. Highlighted risks will include Wildlife management on and around airports; electronic interference such as GPS Jamming affecting thousands of flights; and safety and security culture. Overviews of the risks and how to be more aware come under discussion.
- CEO Interview – Senior African airline executive
Airline chief discusses key issues around competition, investment, new innovation and staffing for the future
- Creating a sustainable African aviation industry, encompassing environmental, social and economic dimensions
African has the opportunity to develop SAF and could play a big part in Africa’s commitment to the industry’s target for net zero emissions by 2050. But sustainability is about more than just fuel. Consideration of the socio-economic and human resource element – including training and skills retention – is vital if the industry is to remain viable and able to meet customer demands
- Putting it all together: Leadership figures from across the industry assess the progress Africa is making and where it must do more
Events are often strong on words and slow in action points. This panel is brought together to highlight some of the key topics from the event and put their spin on it. All experienced in key roles, honest answers will help delegates leave with purpose
