Founding Chairman of AfBAA
Founding Chairman of the African Business Aviation Association (AfBAA) and former Senior Consultant to Gulfstream Aerospace. Before AfBAA, Tarek Ragheb was the Vice President International for Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Gulfstream Aerospace.
Mr. Ragheb is founding Chairman of 3 business development and regional investment companies in the US, Lebanon and Egypt, INTech International, CRAFT Global Services and Al Hora Limited respectively. Each company offering different business solutions such as aviation, mining and industry to governments, private sector enterprises, and to investors in the Middle-East and African Region. In addition, he is the founding Chairman of Rwanda Liaison Office, Middle East.
Born in Egypt and immigrated to the United States in the late 60s with his family, Mr. Ragheb first served in the United States Air Force and the US State Department from 1979 to 1988 before leaving government service to the private sector. He served as the Political Military Attaché at the US Embassy in Riyadh where in 1986 he authored a paper on Arab Peninsula Affairs that was briefed to the President of the United States. He then served as Vice President for GE Aerospace before moving from GE to Martin Marietta where he occupied the position of President of Martin Marietta for the Middle East .
He then joined the Gulfstream team in 1994 to a 20 lustrous years career in business aviation.
In addition to 1 billion dollars of sales for Gulfstream since 1994, he has started up several companies making use of the Egyptian emerging market. One of the most prominent is De Birs Super Yachts; a flagship factory that he established in Alexandria, Egypt which was known as the largest super yacht manufacturer in the Middle-East.
