Pierre Lucas

Chief Air Transport Officer, UNHAS Ethiopia (WFP Aviation)

Currently head of WFP Air operations in Ethiopia, Pierre Lucas joint WFP Aviation in 2009 as Chief Air Transport Officer in Niger (2009-2013), and Regional Aviation Officer for West Africa (20013-2016). He was deeply involved in the aviation support to the Ebola outbreak  operational response in Guinée, Sierra Leon and Liberia.

Pierre has an engineering background, and started his career with WFP in 2003. 

Before joining WFP Pierre Lucas was working as humanitarian adviser at the Crisis center (Centre de Crises) of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As pilot, he has a commercial pilot license (IR-ME), a flight dispatcher, and an instructor license (LSA and gyrocopter).
