Founder, Litson & Associates
Mike Litson trained as a pilot and thereafter Instructor in the Rhodesian Air Force and flew fixed wing piston and jet aircraft and helicopters operationally during the period 1970 to 1982. In 1982 Mike retired from the Air Force of Zimbabwe as a Squadron Leader under the terms of the Lancaster House Agreement and moved to South Africa.
After some fixed wing and helicopter charter flying Mike joined Court Helicopters in Cape Town in 1989 as Flight Safety Manager. After 9 years became Director Operations also flying Sikorsky S61 and Bell 206 helicopters for Court during this period. In 2001 Mike moved to the Sultanate of Oman and became the Manager Safety for the Royal Flight Oman where he stayed for a very pleasant 5yrs.
In 2006 Mike moved to the UK for one year and audited extensively in Central and South America, Africa and Europe for a company providing safety auditing services to the oil industry and resource/mining sector.
Mike returned home to Cape Town in 2007 and formed Litson and Associates with its focus on enhancing flight safety in Africa and beyond. Litson and Associates was the roll-out audit company worldwide for the Flight Safety Foundation Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS).
In 2013 Litson & Associates formed a strategic partnership with Argus International USA due to the many synergies between the two aviation advisory services companies. Together with Argus’ experience in airlines (IOSA) and Business aviation (IS-BAO/Argus Platinum) and L&A’s experience in the oil & gas (OGP AMG) and resources sector (FSF BARS) in Africa we are jointly able to provide a depth of aviation advisory services in Africa and globally.
Argus Int. & Litson and Associates have three areas of focus: Aviation Advisory & Auditing Services / Safety Technology - SMS software development / Satellite Tracking-ERP Services / Aviation Training Services. Litson & Argus work throughout Africa, North & South America and in Europe and Asia-Pacific as required.
