Leon Dillman


Born in Pretoria in 1971, Leon Dillman spent most of his childhood in Pretoria, matriculating at the “Afrikaanse Hoër Seunsskool” (Afrikaans Boys High). Directly after school he joined the South African Defence Force to complete his at that stage mandatory national service.

In 1995 he completed his studies at the University of Stellenbosch in Military Science at the Military Academy in Saldanha. For the next 15 years he held various positions within the South African National Defence Force, ranging from Security Vetting officer to Staff officer Military Attaché Operations. He also completed various other diplomas, including a diploma in Psychophysiology.

In 2000 he became involved in the Africa Aerospace and Defence Exhibitions and remained involved in the Exhibitions until today. He chaired various committees within the Exhibitions, starting with the VIP and Functions Committee and ultimately ending up as the Chair of the Executive Committee and Show Director during 2012.

During 2011 he became the CEO of the Commercial Aviation Association of Southern Africa and currently represents the Aviation Industry on various national aviation forums, including JASC, ILF, CARCom, NasCom, to mention but a few.

He is married with 2 children and enjoys the outdoors.
